Information on the hunting area and Botswana
Lion hunting is once again available in Botswana. Starting in 2005 we were able to offer a very limited number of trophy lion safaris in both the Chobe and Kalahari regions. These safaris produced some of the finest Lion quality of all of Africa last season and will continue to do so into the future.
One of the lions taken in the Kalahari region was recently selected as the "Big 6" trophy of the year by the prestigious African Professional Hunters Association. As baiting for Lion is not allowed in Botswana these safaris are done entirely by tracking. It is possible to combine Lion with Elephant, Buffalo and Leopard for a true Big 4 safari. These Lion permits will book out far in advance so early planning is required. Lion/plainsgame safaris will be a minimum of 18 days duration.
For the 2008 seasons we can now exclusively offer safaris for Trophy Elephant and Buffalo in Chobe CH1 & CH2 areas. These areas are commonly referred to as the Chobe "Enclave". These areas offer hunters the most realistic chances for Elephant above 60lbs of Ivory per side in Africa today. Several of the top 20 Lions in the SCI record book were taken in these specific areas including the current # 1. Buffalo quality and quantity is also excellent.
Hunters arrive and depart Botswana through Maun or Kasane respectively depending on the safari. We have prime time slots in all areas for our clients. All elephant safaris will be a minimum 12 day duration safari. Additional Plains game species are available on request in all areas based in quota availability.
